Brunone, born 23 October 1893 in Bigolino, Province of Treviso, arrived on 25 July 1927 per ‘Carignano’. He travelled with three of his Rossetto brothers-in-law: Gelindo, Adeodato (Ato) and Angelo. Bruno was married to Giovanna (Nana) nee Rossetto. She and their three children, Dorina, 8 years, Albino, 7 years and Elvio, 6 years, arrived four years later on 1 December 1931 per ‘Remo’. Guido was born in 1938.
Brunone had served in the Alpini during World War I. His parents had land where they grew small crops of wheat and corn and some grapes. He stated in his immigration papers that he intended to be a farm labourer. His first address was with his brother-in-law, Domenico Rossetto. His granddaughter, Elena, recalls that she heard that he worked in the outback with camels and also on Kangaroo Island.

By the time family arrived he was settled on Frogmore Road and leased land very close to the River Torrens and worked glasshouses on the corner of Frogmore and Valetta Roads. At some stage, the Rebulis also leased glasshouses on Torrens Avenue Lockleys, adjacent to the Hank brothers on the southern side of the River.
When their father died in 1947, the two older brothers worked the market gardens for several years. In the 1950s Albino (Vito) built a shop for a mixed business with a house attached at the back, on Grange Road. Although some people thought it would not work out, it was very successful and it became a hub for local Italians. Many went there for assistance with translating documents tax returns. Guido collected orders and delivered groceries to local Italian families. Nana died in 1977. Dorina died 20 September 1996; Elvio “Shorty” died 27 January 1997 and Albino “Vito” died on 12 November 2007.
